This past weekend I saw the play\u00a0Avenue Q<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. It\u2019s a hilarious adult musical comedy written by\u00a0Robert Lopez<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Jeff Marx<\/strong><\/a>. Most of the characters are puppets and, in part, the play is a parody of Sesame Street. Inside the fun and crazy (sometime profane) lyrics is a message, delivered in a lighthearted way. One of the songs is called \u201cPurpose.\u201d Here are the lyrics for it. (Princeton is one of the puppets, a college graduate who has moved into the lower-income NYC neighborhood where the play is set.)<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know how I know,<\/p>\n

But I\u2019m gonna find my purpose.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know where I\u2019m gonna look,<\/p>\n

But I\u2019m gonna find my purpose.<\/p>\n

Gotta find out.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t wanna wait.<\/p>\n

Got to make sure that my life will be great.<\/p>\n

My purpose in life is a mystery.<\/p>\n
